This study provides a comparative map of RNA-dependent proteins and protein complexes in S. cerevisiae and S. pombe. Using R-DeeP, the authors identify a conserved core of RNA-dependent proteins as well as species-specific features of complex organization, including unexpected structural modularity of the S. cerevisiae THO complex.

A systematic quantitative approach comprehensively defines domain-specific functional pathways linked to Schizosaccharomyces pombe heterochromatin regulation (2024). Nucleic Acids Research

Using SGA (synthetic gene array)-based large scale genomic screens with the Bioneer deletion mutant library, this study identified hundreds of factors with distinct qualitative roles in silencing at all major major heterochromatin domains (pericentromeres, subtelomeres, mating type locus) in S. pombe.
