We are delighted to announce this year’s recipient of the Elisabeth Gateff Prize: Dr. Mrinmoy Pal.
This year, the Prize Committee received a total of eight outstanding applications. Following careful evaluation and extensive discussion, the committee selected Dr. Pal as this year’s awardee.
In his doctoral research, Dr. Pal investigated “Molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of nuclear organization in early mouse embryos.” His outstanding scientific work, and in particular the results obtained during his doctoral studies, greatly impressed the Prize Committee and were instrumental in its decision.
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, 22 October 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) in Mainz. We are particularly pleased that Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Gateff, the founder and patron of the prize, will attend the ceremony in person.
As part of the event, Dr. Pal will give a talk entitled “How DNA Self-Organizes in the Early Embryo,” followed by the presentation of the Elisabeth Gateff Prize.
Both the talk and the award ceremony will be streamed online. The link to join the event will be announced in early October.
